2020.09.09 04:06 ryfry314 23M Canada/ anywhere Looking to love and support you

Ill start with my name, hey, I’m Ryan and I want to support you and watch you grow and blossom into all the things you dream of becoming.
With that being said, this post is going to be rather long and describe a rather bland guy so kudos to you if you read through the whole thing! I am probably naive to think that I could find a meaningful on reddit however I aside from work and school I don’t really get out too often, most people my age go to the bars in their freetime but I hate bars, sometime about a crowd full of sweaty strangers and loud music I don't listen to doesn't really intrigue me all that much. Also I am a very shy guy, I was the kid that always sat in the back of the class and hated teachers that marked you on participation. This hatred of social interaction of mine has both its cons and pros, I mean you can't really have drama in your life when you don’t even have friends in the first place, then again not having friends is a very lonesome life.
I want to change that, the whole ‘ not having someone’ thing, I want to be your someone and remember all those little details about you, how you like your coffee, your favourite song, meal, your goals and aspirations and more than anything I want to see you achieve them.
I love that, seeing things grow that is. The other week I was watching this Warren Buffett interview, he was discussing his late wife and the influence she had on him throughout his life. He said that his wife was a watering can sprinkling water on him throughout his life, keeping him grounded and giving him needs to grow. I found that endearing, I think everyone needs an individual like that in their life. I really wish to give that to my dear friends, and all the wonderful people that i’ll one day cross paths with.
Anyway enough of that sappy stuff, I guess I’ll talk about myself for a bit so you can see whether you’d like me or not. To start I would say I am a pretty motivated person, I am currently studying power engineering and graduate in a year in a half, woot woot! Aside from school, I teach piano and am a barista at Starbucks. I also founded and manage an investment partnership which I would like to someday do as a full time career. I am really into investing and real estate, I don’t care much for a wealthy lifestyle I just wish to have the ability to give my family ( if I am fortunate enough to have one someday) a life where we can live comfortably and not be worn down by the burdens that come along with fiscal irresponsibility. With that being said I don’t talk about my partnership with people, 1. Because I don’t want people to think that I would like them to invest in the fund and 2. Because who the heck likes a person who talks about themselves like that?
When it comes to hobbies, I play guitar, piano, read, work on my culinary skills and like to go on hikes. My music taste is pretty vast, I like The Beatles, The Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Frank Ocean, Post Malone, Lizzo, Kanye West, My Chemical Romance, The white Stripes. When it comes to T.V and entertainment I like, The Office, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development, H3H3, Shane Dawson, Jeffree Star, and PewDiePie, to list a few.
Now I'll list some of my cons, to start I am definitely a homebody, I don't drink, smoke or party ( not that I have anything against those things, I just never got into them I guess) and like I said before, I tend to be pretty shy
Remember earlier how I mentioned how I don't really like interacting with people? Well that’s not because i’m going through some edgy phase where ‘ people just dont get me’ it is due to the fact that I am very depressed person and struggle a lot with thoughts of suicide, in 2019 I had two failed suicide attempts. With that being said in recent months I have enrolled myself in therapy and began taking antidepressants. A recurring discussion my therapist often have is having people in my life I can have intimate connections with because it is through caring and loving other people I will find love for myself (Maybe idk?) , which is really why I am posting here.
So what the heck am I looking for? Well something meaningful I guess. I am a really caring guy, I love hearing about people's goals and aspirations, I love caring for people and making them their favourite meals on days where they don’t feel the best. I get so much enjoyment out of encouraging people to be the best they can be and right now I don’t really have that in my life, unfortunately.
So that’s where you come in. If you got this far, well congrats I wish I could give you a cupcake or something as a reward. But if you think we’d get along i’d love to have the pleasure of getting to know you! Shoot me a message and we can chat! We can also move to another platform if you wish. It would also be cool if you had a picture of yourself, I don’t care about what you look like or anything It’s just nice to put a face to the name you know?
Also this is me if that matters to you at all.

With love,
Ryan.

2020.04.04 03:31 IamBarefootDave Is Andrew Cuomo Our Real Life Chuck Rhoades???...

April 03, 2020
Prior to the Chinese infecting the world with its Wuhan virus and turning everyone's lives upside down, all we saw on cable news was continuing coverage of the nomination process for the Democratic Party's candidate for US president this November...
Every day we were presented with dim witted media articles like: "Is America Finally Ready to Elect A Woman?" or "Is America Ready to elect a Jew?" (which is kinda funny considering this was in reference to Bernie Sanders who is about as religious as I am and more atheist than the Chinese Communist Party)...when in fact they really should have been writing articles like: "Is the Democratic Party this Racist and Misogynistic that its 2 Leading Choices are Both 80yr Old White Men (One, who can't finish his own sentences without crib notes or the help of a MSM anchor, and the Other who thinks socialism is the answer to this country's problems)?"...but BFD digresses...
Interestingly, I've been forced lately to watch a lot of NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo...
[like it or not I'm a NY resident and I need to know what the hell is going on, so I dutifully tune in each day to hear him babble]
...AND, recently, there was some underground press circulating that focused on something very, very curious...a superimposed photograph of the governor wearing his emblem white polo golf shirt (sometimes it's casual press conference day) appears to reveal that he has...wait for it...NIPPLE PIERCINGS...I'll pause to let that wash over you...YES...BFD is telling you that if you look closely it appears that NY governor Andrew Cuomo pierced his nipples...and not the California Spicoli hoop piercing kind...the bar through the nipple west village freak kind...hmmmm...and interestingly enough, there's been quite the deluge of mass media and social media writings in regard to the governor as a possible late stage presidential candidate for his party...so very curious and so very interesting...
[PAUSE HERE FOR A MOMENT - IF THEY ARE'NT NIPPLE RINGS, THIS MAN SERIOUSLY HAS THE BIGGEST AND MOST DEFORMED SAUSAGE NIPPLES IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND, WORTHY OF A REPRISAL OF THE SHOWS 'FRIENDS' OR 'SEINFELD' JUST FOR AN EPISODE DEDICATED TO THIS FREAKISH PHENOMENON...]
Which immediately led my infantile mind (sorry folks, weeks in quarantine has eroded my cerebral cortex) to wonder out loud in my own version of a NYT editorial..."Could America Elect A Single Guy Who Pierced His Nipples?"...
Fair quesiton, no? I mean, I thought about it a little longer and I said to myself, "what is it with these NY state politicians and their freaky sides?"...I mean, wasn't one of Cuomo's predecessors, Eliot Spitzer, the famous 'Client Number 9' who was a serial consumer of an illegal brothel and alleged freak who's proclivities and public revealings of these behaviors by a botched FBI investigation caused him to resign office?...
And as I pondered it a bit more, I realized my iphone (might as well be the Chinese) must have been listening (as always) because I promptly received a reminder from Netflix to rewatch 'Billions'...hmmm...so very curious...
Now for those of you who still live under that rock, 'Billions' is a fictional series on Showtime that takes place in Gotham, in which Paul Giamatti brilliantly plays the character Chuck Rhoades, a well-to-do middle aged lawyer of privilege who was formerly the fictional US attorney for SDNY (that's "southern district of New York" for the uneducated...) and currently is the sitting attorney general for the Empire State on the show...with eyes on the governor's chair...
But it's not just the political similarities that are striking in this case...Chuck Rhoades has a dark side...Chuck Rhoades has demons...Chucl Rhoades...likes to be spanked...
That's right kids...while his nipples aren't pierced (at least visibly on Showtime), Chuck Rhoades is, as he confessed at a press conference on live TV during an prescient episode of season 4...a self-proclaimed...'masochist'...Chuckie likes to let off steam by going to those freaky sex dens or dungeons you read about on Page Six of the NY Post and get worked over by some mistress of mystery/misery (whichever way you look at it) in a dark leather outfit brandishing whips and other items of innuendo that would make my elementary school teachers blush and hide...
So pulling this sh*tshow of a simile back on point for a second...is Andy Cuomo our Chuck Rhoades?...are the nipple rings a tip-off to something deeper, darker, more sinister, more foreboding?...does he unwind in one of these dens of sin or pleasure or whatever we want to call them (no judgment here of course, just painting a picture for my readers)?...makes you wonder, doesn't it?...he dated Sara Lee for quite some time, when there were no visible nipple rings (or we simply weren't paying close enough attention), didn't he? She seemed as all-American and wholesome as apple pie...but then that ended and now the governor is a swinging bachelor...so is this perhaps his guilty pleasure?...has he embraced his inner Chuck Rhoades as he fights the evil Wuhan Chinese corona virus?...
Which leads me back to where I started in the post...weird & odd questions about whether weird & odd people could be elected president of the United States...so in this case the weird & odd question is: "Could we vote for a masochist?...", in fairness assuming that were true and/or assuming said person admitted as such?...it's a far more engaging and interesting question than the other boring sh*t I was reading before the virus...
IN FACT...try that one at Thanksgiving Dinner this year if we all survive to see it..."Hey Grandpa...would you vote for a guy who pierced his nipples?...Grandma how do feel about bondage?...is it important that a world leader have a healthy outlet for his his/her stress that doesn't include sexually harassing/assaulting interns (sorry, Bubba)?..."
Can you IMAGINE the look of shock and awe on the faces of the bozos at CNN moderating a presidential debate in which sitting president Donald J. Trump turns to a surging-in-the-polls/late entry/canonized in August in Milwaukee in a brokered convention Andrew Cuomo and says:..."hey Andy, did you take out your nipple rings for this debate or did you leave them in to calm your nerves?...huh?...we'd all love to know..." crickets...
Crickets indeed...in fact I think that exchange would become instantly one of the greatest moments of live television in the history of this country and the world...
I think it's fair game...I think the media should ask...everybody loves to beat up Trump and say he's lost his mind, or his hair was blowing in the wind in the Rose Garden or some other mundane nonsense that smart people are simply tired off...how about some real journalism for a change...how about somebody in the media have the balls or the vajayjay to stand up and ask:..."hey Andy...are those nipple rings?...and are you a big Chuck Rhoades fan?..."
Seems super fair and super interesting to me at least...

2020.01.13 16:58 jaysjep2 Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Jan. 13

Introducing today's contestants:
Veronica only broke even on the two DDs she found in DJ, but she was still able to build a runaway at $21,000 vs. $10,000 for Katie and $4,400 for Daniel.
DD1, $1,000 - BEAUTY BRANDS - The website for this company begun in 1886 has links for "shop with a friend" & "become a representative" (On the last clue of the round, Katie lost $2,000 from her score of $6,000 vs. $5,800 for Veronica.)
DD2, $1,200- THEIR PEN WENT SILENT - Just prior to his death in 2006, this bestselling novelist wrote a book for younger readers called "Shark Life" (Veronica lost $4,000 from her total of $14,200 vs. $6,000 for Katie.)
DD3, $800 - COLONIAL AMERICA - Cotton Mather supported the Salem witch trials but was more forward-thinking when he urged inoculation against this disease (Veronica won $4,000 from her score of $15,800 vs. $8,000 for Katie.)
FJ - THE BIBLE - This book of the Bible ends with "Fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys"
Veronica and Katie were correct on FJ, with Veronica adding $999 to win with $21,999.
Triple Stumper of the day: No one knew the word for a world revolution that comes from a word meaning "circular" is orbit.
Judging the writers: Not sure that a clue about Simon & Garfunkel's most popular hit should be more valuable than one about DNCE, which to date has one album and one top ten song.
Shameless shilling: The opening clue was a plug for Sony's X800G smart TV.
Correct Qs: DD1 - What is Avon? DD2 - Who was Benchley? DD3 - What is smallpox? FJ - What is "Exodus"?

2020.01.05 00:42 HHSquad Generation rundown since 1900 including Cusper generations, what do you think?

1900-1911 = The Freewheeler Generation (major generation, 12 years)
1912-1927 = The "Greatest" Generation or G.I. Generation (major generation, 16 years)
1928-1939 = The Silent Generation (major generation, 12 years) Mostly born during The Great Depression, The Silent Generation was too young to participate in World War 2 but may have participated in the Korean War of the early 1950's. They started out in poverty but as America became the most prosperous country in the world in the 1950's, the Silent Generation became perhaps the richest generation in U.S. history. These guys grew up in an America of "baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie" where the American Dream seemed to be in the grasp of many, and members of The Silent Generation were often very hard-working and humble. They are the parents mostly of "Shadow" Boomers (1955-1959) and Generation Jones (1960-1964) and by extension often (but not always) grandparents to Millenials.
1940-1945 = Rock and Roll Generation (cusper generation, 6 years), These WW2 Babies created the Youth Movement in the U.S. and the concept of the teenager as a separate entity. As teenagers they swung their hips to a new music called Rock and Roll by artists like Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, and Little Richard. It was quite rebellious at the time. American Graffitti was a movie about them. Almost all 60's Rock icons were born here, including all the Beatles, Dylan, Hendrix, the Stones (except Bill Wyman, Silent Generation), etc. As John Lennon once said, no Elvis, no Beatles. Rising Birthrate.
1946 - 1957 = Baby Boomers (major generation, 12 years), post-WW2 babies with BIG birth rate helped create much needed social changes but also economic problems for later generations. The Classic Boomers (1946-1954) came of age in the 1960's with the turbulent 60's, protests, assasinations, and much of the best of classic rock. These include the hippies of Woodstock Nation and the Vietnam vets. The Shadow Boomers (1954-1957), who were too young for Vietnam and Woodstock, came of age in the early to middle 70's and constituted a lot of the Yuppies of the 80's. Many Shadow Boomers continued to love Classic Rock but others jumped on to the late 1970's Disco music bandwagon. Shadow Boomers like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs helped usher in the Computer Age. Steve Wozniak, the founder of Apple Inc., was a Classic Boomer.
1958 -1964 = Generation Jones (cusper generation, 7 years), BIG birthrate generation, originally called the Lost Generation and Tweeners, Generation Jones was the first generation to come of age with mass-produced PC's (Apple II) and videogames (both at the arcade and Atari 2600 home systems, with Pong, Space Invaders, Galaga, Defender, and Asteroids being popular among GenJones). Jonesers also came of age with President Nixons resignation, the microwave oven boom, and the VHS/Betamax VCR war (won by VHS). The presidents resignation over Watergate may explain the cautious cynicism this generation has towards politics. As kids their favorite TV shows included Speed Racer (first successful Japanese anime in the U.S.), Spider-Man (original animated), The Flintstones, Underdog, Batman (Adam West), Ultraman (another Japanese show), Lost in Space, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, and Scooby-Doo (shared with Gen X). Some in Gen Jones may remember the short-lived but highly influential James at 16 in the late 1970's.
In elementary and middle-school Gen Jonesers grew up with a similar upbringing to Boomers in the robust 1960's and early 1970's but unlike Baby Boomers Gen Jones graduated out of high school with a bleak economy and job outlook (thanks to a far-reaching late 1973 recession), so by necessity Jonesers learned to be more realistic and less idealistic than the Baby Boomers (The idealism of the 1960's was gone) foreshadowing Generation X. In middle and high school they became the first major audience to see the original Star Wars movie (later called "A New Hope"). They generally rejected Disco (most were too young for clubs anyways), and they came of age with the original Punk/New Wave/Post-Punk music scenes of the late 1970's, the first break from classic rock. Generation Jones included many of the key players that would influence and impact the grunge movement that came about in the late 1980's with Generation X. They share 80's MTV and members of the 80's "Brat Pack" with Generation X. They were erroneously classified with Boomers (and sometimes Gen X) for a long time because of the big birth rate. Generation Jones are mostly kids of the Silent Generation, and the kids of Gen Jonesers are usually Xennials and Millenials.
Note: In the U.K. Generation Jones is a major generation that starts in 1955 and lasts 10 years (1955-1964) thanks to differences in events of the time.
1965-1976 = Generation X (major generation, 12 years), lower birthrate generation (the Boomers started using birth control in the 60's) was glued to MTV in the 1980's in the days when MTV actually played music videos, they also loved spending time at the arcades and the early home gaming systems including Nintendo's NES system. They watched shows like The Simpsons, Twin Peaks, Miami Vice, Cheers and Seinfeld when they took a break from MTV. The Breakfast Club, E.T., The Goonies, Indiana Jones movies, Die hard, Top Gun, The Lost Boys, Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure, Back to the Future, Heathers, Mystic Pizza, and the first 2 Terminator movies were big for GenX, as was a slew of slasher movies headed by A Nightmare on Elm Street. Early GenXers shared the "Golden Age of Arcade Video Games" and the Atari 2600 with Generation Jones. This was the "latch-key" generation whose parents were often divorced and working leaving them on their own much of the time.
GenXers (especially the '70-'76 group) grew up with the late 80's Seattle sound that fused punk and heavy metal to varying degrees resulting in highly charged music that came to be known as Grunge. The anti-capitalist Grunge look (dark colors, ripped jeans, flannel shirts, band t-shirts, combat boots, etc.) became commonplace among GenXers and the young Xennials when the music gained national popularity in the early 90's. The grunge movement remained big until the death of Nirvanas lead vocalist Kurt Cobain in 1994. Many GenXers also enjoyed thrash bands like Metallica and Megadeth or hard-rocking bands like Motley Crue and Guns and Roses, as well as alternative bands like REM, Sonic Youth, The Smiths, The Cocteau Twins, The Cure, and Depeche Mode who were often staples on MTV's "120 minutes", a Generation X favorite. Sometimes they had to wade thru every videos 100 times just to see a video of their favorite band(s) to come on.
1977 - 1983 (8/31/83) = Xennials or Oregon Trail Generation ( [1977 born] up to Class of 2001), cusper generation, 6.5+ years), Born (roughly) during the time of the release of the original Star Wars trio of movies, these guys grew up or came of age with Tupac, New Kids on the Block (female fans), MTV reality shows, My So-Called Life, X-Files, Beverly Hills 90210, Xena: Warrior Princess, Beavis and Butthead, and everything 90's. They are the last generation to graduate high school before the tragic events of 9/11. As they entered adolescence many Xennials joined their big brothers in Gen X with the grunge movement when Nirvanas "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" hit the airwaves and the MTV video circuit in 1991. Xennials share a love for Daria and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Millenials, but as 80's kids Xennials were also fond of the original Transformers cartoon, He-Man, Thundercats, Voltron, Pee-Wees Playhouse, Batman: The Animated Series (an all-time great) and they may have caught a glimpse of the short-lived but highly praised Galaxy High. In 1990, the newly established Disney Afternoon became a favorite with the OT Generation, mixing already established favorite cartoons like the original DuckTales and Chip-n-Dale with cartoons like DarkWing Duck and the unusually dark (for Disney) Gargoyles.
They grew up with Apple Macintosh computers and Windows 3.1, i486 and Pentium 1 computers, floppy disk and zip drives, the original Playstation, and SNES. Xennial gamers who were lucky enough to own a PC in the middle 1990's could enjoy the rise of the popular FPS genre via a string of boundary pushing games and game engines by Id Software which included Wolfenstein 3d, DOOM, DOOM 2, and finally the revolutionary Quake in 1996. Other PC games on their list at the time include MS-Dos games like the Kings Quest, Ultima, and Monkey Island series, as well as Tie Fighter, Myst, and the original System Shock, Tomb Raider, and Diablo. Xennials grew up with a significant time in an analog world but came out of high school into a digital internet world. My So-Called Life is a good representation of Xennials circa 1993 and 1994, pre-internet.
1983 (9/1/83) -1995 (8/31/95) = Generation Y or Millenials ( class of 2002 - class of 2013, major generation, 12 years), Millenials are the first major generation to come of age with the PC sales boom and the wild west of the internet in the late 90's. As a result they are the first generation that could realistically use the internet as a medium for mass communication before high school. Millenials are also the first generation to graduate high school after the tragic events of 9/11. They grew up or came of age with Star Wars prequels, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawsons Creek, Friends, Futurama, Daria, Netflix, Steam, flip-top phones, Windows 98/2000/XP, CD then DVD Players, AOL chatrooms and My Space, Pokemon, N64, Dreamcast, and the 6th generation consoles (PS2, Gamecube, original XBox). They remember 9/11 clearly.
With internet gaming coming to fruition and with these guys often being hardcore gamers, games as diverse as Diablo 2, Half-Life/Half-Life 2, Counter-strike, Starcraft/Brood War, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Unreal Tournament 2004, Battlefield 2, as well as console games like original Halo, Metroid Prime, Ocarina of Time, Soul Calibur (1 and 2), Wind Waker, Resident Evil 4, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and GTA: Vice City and/or San Andreas were often on their playlist.
1995 (9/1/95) -1999 (8/31/99) = Generation K (Katniss) or Zillenials ( class of 2014 - class of 2017, cusper generation, 4 years) The generation born around the release of the revolutionary Windows '95 operating system (and the evolutionary Windows '98), these guys spent their childhood glued to the TV set for the latest episode of Powerpuff Girls, Dexters Laboratory, or Johnny Bravo on Cartoon Network but came of age in late elementary, middle and early highschool with sweeping social and technological changes as a result of Smart Phones, Social Media, and sites like YouTube. Their first phones were often feature (dumb) phones like the Motorola Razr but some in this generation got upgrades to a smart phone by high school. LCD wide-screen HDTV's, Blu-Ray, the Nintendo Wii (with its Wii remote) and Windows 7 were now becoming more commonplace by middle school and this generation was often impacted by TV shows like Lizzie Mcguire, American Idol, and American Horror Story (later on) as well as movies like Avatar and of course The Hunger Games. They share a love of Harry Potter books/movies with late 80's/90's Millenials and a love for Hannah Montana (tend toward female) and Spongebob Squarepants (as kids and teens) with early to middle Gen Z. Most Zillenials were able to vote in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, and they constituted the youngest voting block. Like any cusper generation they have an understanding of their border generations to a differing degree and can feel more at home with either one or the other, or just as themselves. They may or may not have memories of 9/11 but not much emotional impact at this age unless the family was directly affected. Best friends Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams (Sansa and Arya Stark from Game of Thrones) are from Generation K, they might make good icons for this generation.
Like the Millenials, members of Gen K were also enjoying games on the 6th generation consoles and eventually the 7th generation consoles (XBox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii) once they reached middle or high school. In addition to games on the 6th generation consoles (listed in the Millenials description) Zillenials often played 7th generation games like The Mass Effect series (1-3), The Elder Scrolls series (particularly Skyrim), Portal (1 and 2), Grand Theft Auto V, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and the Super Mario Galaxy games.
1999 (9/1/99) -2010? = Generation Z or iGen ( class of 2018 - ? , major generation, 12 years?), Kids of tech-savvy GenX, Xennial and early Millenial parents, these guys came of age with Wi-fi, Snapchat, Instagram, Uber, 4k UHD Smart TV's, Marvel movies, Game of Thrones, Netflix original content, Windows 10, PS4, Fortnite, The Witcher games, and something called Tik Toc (which I have no idea what that is but I guess its a big deal). Many of them had smart phones before entering high school and some had them as early as elementary school. Gen Z is the most racially and ethnically diverse generation in U.S. history and perhaps Canada as well. No memories of 9/11 and their entire life has been after the internet was up, running, and thriving.
I haven't filled in the first 2 generations as you can see. Also I differ from established normal year range of Generation Jones.

2019.12.01 23:30 AnythingMachine Ways SV could end

What do we know, going into the penultimate episodes? Pied Piper was doing well after the Hooli merger and on the verge of rolling out its coverage to 100 million phones - which would be a durable victory. Then, the investigation into Gavin Belson, the injunction, and Richard joins a conspiracy to blackmail the AG of california in cooperation with a known criminal. There are 2 episodes left - and a couple of Chekovs guns, namely Jian Yang's human trafficking ring and Gwart/Laurie/Yaonet.
The Seinfeld Ending: the investigation turns into a full-blown trial and in the final episode, everyone is brought to account for what they've done. Pied Piper intentionally infecting phones with malware, the fake users, selling Piperchat to Hooli while knowing about the COPPA violations... Gavin and Richard go to prison for a long, long time.
The Groundhog day Ending: No prison sentances for Richard, but in the end after some wacky shenanigans that ultimately amount to nothing, Pied Piper has to be sold for pennies on the dollar, since Russfest was a failure. Maybe Gavin offers Richard $10 Million for Pied Piper and he says yes, in the end. Maybe they all go back to the hacker hostel and Erlich shows up to kick them out. Either way, they end up back where they started, more or less.
The Good Ending: The final episode is a trial, just like the Seinfeld ending, but it ends with Gavin in prison and Pied Piper vindicated and free from the injunction. Somehow Yaonet are also wiped away, leaving Pied Piper free to complete their deal with AT&T. Richard becomes a tech billionaire and Pied Piper goes on to world domination and seriously affects the future history of the 21st century for the better.
The World Ending Ending: Gwart and the pirated Pied Piper algorithm in Yaonet US prove to be the Chekov's gun. Gwart has been working on something truly astounding, a breakthrough that enables a giant leap in ML like long-term planning, casual reasoning or discovering new action sets from scratch. Either that or it comes out of Son of Anton. They deploy it in a rush and a tremendous disaster results, either on the level of a big cyberattack, or an intelligence explosion occurs and the world abruptly ends. Just like Gilfoyle predicted.
Place your bets, everyone! Only 2 episodes to go!

2019.11.26 07:44 BookBeckBecca We're headed for a Seinfeld finale

Every one of the main cast can look forward to getting absolutely worked over in the finale. We've got two episodes left and with what we can surmise about the next one, Russfest is not gonna be the success that saves the company. I see some complaints that none of these characters are growing or learning, that's the point. It's a comedy. About selfish characters. The two closest analogs are Seinfeld and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Everyone's gonna have a real bad time.
There are 2 episodes left, one is the almost certain failure of Russfest, I imagine that will finally lead to an internal war within Pied PipeHooli
Specifically: Gwart and Laurie Bream are going to displace, and possibly purchase Pied Piper. It's possible this will be Gavin but he's too much of a series regular to get off the hook in this way. He may be involved but the lead will be these two characters assuming the role within the tech world that Richard did when he unveiled Middle Out
Gilfoyle has met his rival in John, a veteran from Hooli forshadowed to be, perhaps, smarter than Gilfoyle through the chess matches. We have the plot thread about Hooli workers loyal to Gavin, wouldn't be surprised at all if he was among them.
The show has spent a couple of seasons setting up Holden and Jared, I think the resolution to this will go back to Gwart v. Richard, insofar that Jared will have inadvertently set up Gwart and Laurie Bream to deal a serious blow to Richard. That or his handling of Holden will lead to some disaster
I expect when all of this collapses in on itself, the crew will try to return to the hacker hostel and Jian Yang will slam the door on them.

2019.11.21 12:57 spicysoviet1991 A Canadian Living Abroad: A Study

I've lived in the UK on-and-off for 2 years (first London, now Liverpool, and in between, Bath) and I have collected some observations, loves, questions, shrugs, and annoyances over that time period. **Disclaimer: I'm from a large city (Toronto) with lots of experience dipping into the American world (mostly NYC, but also Florida, regrettably), so what I find charming/interesting/weird/annoying has a lot of roots in that...**all that being said, I absolutely love the UK and I'm just having some fun.

Observations/Questions/Annoyances- Food
Observations/Questions/Annoyances- Non Food
(EDIT- TV licences have been thoroughly explained to me, so will be taking it off my roster. May add something new if I'm feeling brave).
Anyways, that's all I've got so far! I'd love to hear some answers, rebuttals, or general observations back- especially if you've been to Canada and can give me your perspective! Also, I am SUPER OPEN to more food suggestions, because there is a culinary world beyond the battered sausage that I am so ready to explore. My body is ready for more English food. And more Monster Munch Pickled Onions.

2019.11.15 21:36 Boop108 Consensus In Mainstream American Cinema And Television

For the first fifty years of American mainstream cinema there was little division made between different kinds of audiences. Films presented entertainment appropriate for all ages. Noir was a B movie phenomenon relegated to the margins. Romances, Westerns, Musicals, and Comedies all had mass appeal not only to people of differing backgrounds but to all ages as well. In the era before television, families were going out to the movies 4 times a week on average.
The world of American mainstream cinema presented a social consensus by showing its audiences what was funny, what was scary, what was sexy, what was wonderful and what was evil. There was an assumed shared experience. The implication was that we all agreed that Jerry Lewis was funny and that Marilyn Monroe was desirable.
Much of cinema was a game of showing audiences what film executives, writers and producers thought the audiences wanted or alternately convincing audiences that they wanted what the executives wanted. Either way an implied agreement was maintained where everyone partook from the same cultural well.
This all came crashing down with the invention of television and the breakup of the Hollywood studio system. By the early 1960’s families were no longer going to the movies 4 times a week but less than 4 times a year. One of the effects of people switching to television was that the pressure films were under to present consensus narratives was replaced by a pressure to provide something television could not. This spurred a new era in film where risks that were unthinkable in the 50s were now plausible. In pursuit of their share of the public’s attention the film industry began to move toward more violent and sexual material. Such material might not appeal to everyone but it might coax some viewers back into the theater. Then in 1968 the Hayes code was abandoned and Hollywood was truly free to start breaking new ground. Movies like Chinatown or Taxi Driver were completely unthinkable in 1960 but now Hollywood would settle for a smaller audience and hope that providing something shocking and new might fill the seats.
Television stayed the central form of entertainment and attracted huge audiences all the way into the early 90s but with the explosion of cable everything changed again. In the 80’s the television show Mash had 106 million viewers. Seinfeld in 1989 had 76 million. Compare that to more recent popular shows. 13 million people watched the finale of Lost. Empire had 17 million viewers, Breaking Bad had 8 million. The broad consensus of shows like Mash and Cheers is gone.
I grew up in the 1980s. Every year movies like The Wizard of Oz, and Its a Wonderful Life appeared on network television and everyone watched them. By the time any American child reached the age of ten you could be sure they had seen both these films. These movies provided a shared mythology, and foundation from which other mythologies could be understood. Do not mistake my sentiment, I am not advocating for some nostalgic return to homogeneous culture. It may well be that we are better off as we are now, but it is important to recognize the shift and its ramifications.
Now there is a new pressure on the mainstream film industry which foregoes American consensus and seeks world consensus. The Marvel films are carefully produced to not only succeed in The United States but to succeed across the globe. Marvel’s Avengers made 700 million dollars in North America but it cleared 2 Billion dollars in the rest of the world.
At the same time that the film industry is going global Youtube has made it possible to create smaller and smaller niche markets that can still yield profits. You can have a weekly show on entrelac knitting techniques and have an avid following of 50,000 viewers as a base for a successful business.
As the entertainment industry navigates the dynamic between consensus and niche it orients and reorients our culture. In addition it recalibrates power relationships between centralized and decentralized modes. The producers of culture consolidate into a powerful few, and then shatter into a diffuse chaos. Pewdie Pie is a result of this chaos but for every one of him there is another Disney or Marvel production to reconsolidate power.

2019.11.07 21:07 ForcewithNoName Review Cornucopia - Alchemic Muse, Stereoplasm, Sucreabeille, Whisper Sisters

Happy season of Thanks, all! (Or shopping, or however you choose to celebrate) These are just some thoughts on the hoard I’ve acquired over the past few months. For your convenience, they are listed in alphabetical order of house.
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the houses named below and am not receiving compensation for the following reviews. Also note that any scent containing musk may skew wild with me, due to my natural chemistry. YMMV.
All scents were allowed a bare minimum of 5 days’ rest before I began assessing them. If something required a longer rest period, I will note it on that particular item. These reviews are a cleaned up version of my personal notes and intended to be short ‘n sweet. Without further adieu:
Lovecraft - Alchemic Muse (Provincial lavender blossoms grounded in fresh pumpkin, sweet cream, and blackstrap molasses with a thick dusting of harvest spice) So, I used to love this scent, but scrubbed it after 10 minutes because I made the mistake of wearing it during a bad chapter of my life, and now it recalls those memories. I applied it for science, but no data on longevity. Sorry. French herbal lavender up front, with a hint of belying spice. After several minutes the lavender begins to fade, but still sticks around; you’ll start to pick up on the cream note. It stays this way except for the spice very shyly coming in. I don’t think the oil version of this likes me much, because I’m also getting a weird, slightly soapy note. (I’ve found the throw and longevity of the body whip of this to be much better than the oil, at least for my skin. The whip is also heavy on the spice and cream and the lavender burns off before too long)
Krumkake - Alchemic Muse (Freshly baked gingerbread, brown sugar, creamy butter, and dark molasses dusted with saffron, clove, nutmeg and cinnamon and filled with caramelized chestnuts in thick vanilla cream) Buttery-rich, delicious cookies with some molasses (non-medicinal kind), a dash of toasted walnuts (err, chestnuts?), and some low-key spices. Auuuughhh..... This is making me think of gingerbread and Christmastime. Also, props for this having the rare butter note that doesn’t hate me! After about half an hour, bold warmth begins to fade and creamy vanilla joins the scene. Projection stays around 3-4 inches from skin, but I did keep getting whiffs of it from my wrist as I was moving around doing chores. Started to soften in strength around 2 hours. Lasted for at least 3.5 total (I fell asleep) Still trying to decide if I want a full size.
Yuletide - Alchemic Muse (Envelop yourself in the warmth of nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger simmering in buttered rum with indulgent nuances of shaved white chocolate) This is white chocolate with cinnamon and the other spices on me. It is warm, very Yule-ish, and not at all overly sweet. It feels very festive to me. There for at least a few hours or so, throw stays within a few inches of skin. Recommended to try it if spicy white chocolate is your thing.
Nigrum Cattus/Black Cat- Stereoplasm (sour gummy worms, twist of key lime and lemon soda) This one starts with a nice little pop of tart and sweet, but the majority of wear life seems to be sweet candy, like when you’ve sucked all the sour sugar off one of those Trolli gummy worms. Throw is minimal, but scent stuck around for at least 3.5 hours before it got washed off while I was doing chores.
Ogygoptynx - Stereoplasm (heaps of fresh candy corn, burnt brown sugar and autumn air) I really enjoyed this one and have worn it a couple of times so far. This is very much a sweet scent, for those who like to smell sugary. It starts with a bold mixture of the candy corn and what I think is the autumn air component, then simmers down after a bit to a very brown sugar-dominated scent. It feels appropriately Autumn-ish and I wouldn’t mind a full size at some point. Throw was good for an oil; kept getting whiffs from my wrists for the first two hours or so. Lasted as a skin-close scent for about 12 hours. Impressive, young Skywalker.
Temptress of the Ancients - Stereoplasm (dried lavender, Joshua tree, hanging gardens, magnolia champaka, camphor and fresh fig) Really enjoyed this one and was surprised, because it’s a fruity-floral for the first chunk of wear time and I am not a fruity-floral person. Opens with what I assume is the gorgeous magnolia champaka, something skewing pink citrus, and sweet-herbal lavender. Lavender burns off after a few minutes and citrusy note leaves not too long after. I think there is some sweet fig in the background, but the champaka dominates here and reminds me somewhat of nag champa with it’s somewhat smoky presence. Only lasts for about 2 hours before becoming more subtle, may require longer rest time. Throw is nothing heavy. Contender for full size.
Rubies From Your Lips - Stereoplasm (twilight musk, smoked wood sage, carnation corsage, holy water, green clove, damp soil and grave moss) A little more of a musky floral than I usually wear. I think what I got was primarily a mix of the twilight musk, carnation, and something aquatic. Drydown softens the musk some, definitely a more, eh, dusky floral scent. Leans feminine, like an upper crust lady’s perfume. Lasted around 3 hours, which is weird because usually musks stick to me like glue. This must be a mild one.
His Heart to Drink - Stereoplasm (sour blackberries, lodestone, deer musk, willow oak, copper, faded cologne and silver crucifix) Starts out as a floral with some fruity tartness to it, but about 15 minutes in, the musk morphs to BO on me, but then kind of goes away after another 10 minutes. This one is more complex and shifted a few times, and danged if I could tell you exactly what I was smelling except that it has something sweet-but-not-sweet, something with musky throw, and a hint of .... metal? Lasted about 2-3 hours.
Bewitched Rabbit - Stereoplasm (poisoned green apple, splintered broomsticks and peach hyde formula) Started as kind of a green melon scent, but quickly veered into some kind of herbal potion with a hint of something almost floral. This has to be the green apple and peach hyde formula, and I’m wondering if the latter is a peach aldehyde. Any wood from the broomstick note is subtle and only serving to help enhance the other scents. Very interesting combo. Lost a lot of its strength about 15 minutes in and stayed very close to skin. Quite faint at 1.5 hour mark.
Scaredy Cats - Stereoplasm (sheet white marshmallow, midnight sugar cookies and an extinguished candle) Heads up, I suspect I amp marshmallow. Sweet marshmallow from the bottle. Strong, sweet marshmallow on skin. Sugar cookie comes in upon drydown, but it’s not very pronounced on me and blends well with the other notes. This is a very sweet scent. The extinguished candle could be in there, but it’s hard for me to tell. Throw was good for first couple of hours. Lasted for at least 3.5 hours and was still going strong by the time it got washed off.
The Great Pumpkin Slice - Stereoplasm (buttery popcorn balls, freshly baked pumpkin pie and raspberry lady fingers) This one did not work well on me, owing to my natural chemistry hating any kind of buttery note. But I was able to detect the pumpkin pie scent and something like kettlecorn popcorn, and I think later on, I was picking up a subtle and sweet kind of cookie scent, but it was under the other notes. I let my mom have a sniff of this one when she stopped by and she says she gets the buttered popcorn strongly, which confirms my suspicion that butter and my skin generally don’t mix (hah, now I’m having flashbacks of the Seinfeld episode involving Kramer and buttery skin) FWIW, my mom really liked this one. It lasted about 3 hours on me.
Fig Tree - Sucreabeille (late summer figs offered on a platter with warm honeycomb, almonds, coumarin, and sips of red wine) Opener is a bright, sweet fig with something subtle and warm on the edges. Gotta be the honeycomb. Brightness (I’m blaming the almonds) settles down after a minute and this is a gentle sweetness from the fig. Could be some coumarin helping, hard to tell because it’s strong to my nose. Stays to within a few inches of skin, but still strong when you go to sniff it. I did scrub at the half hour mark, but it was because my nightly nausea had kicked in and I couldn’t stand any scent. Fig Tree is not a bad smell, by any means.
Pear Tree - Sucreabeille (hot, crisp pear tart drizzled with caramel. Drowned in heavy cream spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, and a touch of vanilla) When I handed this one to my mom to sniff, her eyes popped open and her exact words were, “WOW!” I guess she approved :) This one is strong, refreshingly sweet pear from the bottle. Getting hints of heavy cream and cinnamon a few minutes after application, but pear is still strong. Good throw for first hour, then it starts to settle down. Lasted more than 3 hours, then got washed off.
Bezoar - Sucreabeille (a rich, decadent gourmand of double salted caramel, marzipan, and coumarin, with a dash of old teakwood) I was envisioning some kind of warm, salty caramel scent with this. What I got upon application was a strong, bright marzipan opener joined by sweet and cheery coumarin. It wasn’t unpleasant, but I was startled and beginning to wonder if I’d made a mistake when reading the scent notes. Turns out I forgot these two were in here. Then the marzipan bowed out gracefully and the caramel note I’d been hoping for entered and began to dance around with a mysterious partner - I suspect it was the coumarin sporting a small amount of teak. This lasted for around an hour before the strength gentled and it became sweeter, losing the salty caramel character. Lasted around 4 hours before softening to where I had to stick my nose right up to my wrist to smell it.
Halloween Rose - Whisper Sisters (red rose, red Egyptian musk, marshmallow, white rose, pumpkin, candy corn, hint of patchouli) I’ve found that WS’s Egyptian musks go soapy on me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one. Interestingly, their red Egyptian musk is more of a humid, not-quite cloying scent with a hint of soap to me. I find it pleasant, in an odd way, when paired with the other scent notes. The combination blossoms like a rich, red velvet rose, and by the grace of that musk, it lasts for hours. The patchouli and marshmallow are present, yet subtle. I caught myself continuing to sniff at my wrists, sleeves, and blanket, even 12 hours later as I’d catch a hint of something mysterious and good and think, “Whoa, is that me?” This is not quite Morticia Addams dark, but it is still a somewhat moody scent. I didn’t manage to bag a full size before it was gone, but maybe next year....
Silver Shamrock - Whisper Sisters (crunchy dead leaves, black amber, pumpkin, cinnamon buns, patchouli, hints of oak and lemon) From the bottle and upon application, this is dirt, dead brown leaves, sweet cinnamon buns, creamy amber, a lemon drop and some patchouli mixing with the dirt. I love this! The dirt and leaves fade before too long, and the rest of the scents slowly give way to an amber-dominated sweetness. Not sugary sweet. Reapplied around 4 hour mark, but skin-close scent detected next morning from evening application.
That’s all for now. Thanks!

2019.10.30 03:24 DaveyBoy1995 Warner Bros. Cinematic Looniverse - A Looney Tunes cinematic universe

What if there was a movie universe focusing on all things looney? I've had this idea in my head for a long time and I actually posted it on a different site. Looking back, it really needed some fixing. At the same time, I wanted to share my idea here and get some more feedback on it. I imagine that a cinematic universe would begin with a few solo films about certain characters (since a few of them are in the works anyway). This would build to a full-blown Looney Tunes movie in the same vein as movies like Rat Race or It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. The universe would then expand to adapt shows like Tiny Toon Adventures, Taz-Mania, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid!, The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries, Histeria!, Duck Dodgers and even Loonatics Unleashed (that last show is not well-received, but they could reboot it and add more of a slapstick element that I feel was missing from the show). Most of the movies would be animated, but some of them would include live-action. For instance, a theatrical Animaniacs movie could fuse live-action with animation--not unlike Looney Tunes: Back in Action or Who Framed Roger Rabbit?--while a Pinky and the Brain movie would just be 100% animated. I hope this isn't too confusing. I admit it was hard for me to type all of this out without coming across that way.
Unfortunately, I had no spot for Space Jam 2. That movie's gonna be a reboot anyway, so it could totally stand on its own. Think of it as a "DC Elseworlds" sort of thing.
Live-Action Cast:
If you don't agree with the casting choices, let me know. I say celebrities would have to be used very carefully in a franchise like this. For instance, The Muppets featured some celebrity appearances here and there (i.e. Jack Black and Selena Gomez) while the main story was about the titular characters.
PHASE ONE
Coyote VS Acme - Wile E. Coyote takes a stand against the ACME Corporation after the traps he uses against the Road Runner fail one too many times. NOTE: This movie's already confirmed to happen, so it might as well kick things off.
It's P-P-P-Porky Pig, Folks! - Porky Pig is a well-known comedian best known for his stutter. Despite not having the best luck, he finds a way to get back up and keep doing what he loves. One day, he gets on stage and shares with his fans some of his most entertaining stories, and they are all nothing short of comical! Porky getting a movie sounds ridiculous yet not too far-fetched since he is one of the top three most iconic characters in the franchise along with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. Making him a comedian was a random idea, and the idea of him telling stories about his life onstage take inspiration from Seinfeld. Throw in a few familiar characters (i.e. Petunia Pig and Yoyo Dodo) and some shenanigans that could work as separate Porky Pig shorts and we may have a hit on our hands.
Speedy Gonzales - A mouse gifted with super speed battles a corrupted system and becomes an outlaw, but will have to take a stand when a group of cats invade his town. He is accompanied by his loyal yet sluggish cousin, Slowpoke Rodriguez. NOTE: There were talks about a possible Speedy movie at some point which is why it's on the list.
The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries - Emma Webster--that's Granny, BTW--is a former detective who decides to get back into the game after a duo of infamous thugs rob her. [Yes, those thugs are Rocky and Mugsy.] Despite not liking each other at all, Sylvester and Tweety reluctantly work together to solve the case as long as it keeps their owner out of harm's way. This movie would be based on the show of the same name. I'd also add appearances from the Goodfeathers.
Bugs n' Daffy's Left Turn at Albuquerque - Bugs Bunny has always been number one and Daffy Duck has always been number two. That's the way it's been for years. It's not hard to see why Daffy's jealous of him; one of them gets all the luck and the other gets blown up, shot in the face, or worse. One day, the duck just loses it and goes off on his personal enemy. Bugs feels sorry for him and decides to cheer him up by taking him on a vacation. But their road to paradise keeps taking random detours as they run into various enemies, and it's all because Bugs didn't take that left turn at Albuquerque. This movie would mainly be animated and include appearances from other characters. NOTE: I once heard that a Bugs Bunny movie was in the works. This might be the best way to NOT mess it up.
The Looney Tunes Movie - There is a legend of a mysterious treasure chest that was buried a long time ago, but no one knows what was locked in it. Now the chest is up for grabs and whoever finds it first gets to keep whatever's inside. This opens the door for the Looney Tunes to get involved. It's a race against the clock with every toon for himself! This brings all the major characters from the previous movies together while also reintroducing other well-known characters. The end of the film breaks the fourth wall while teasing the cinematic debut of the Warner Siblings.
PHASE TWO
A Tiny Toon Adventure - The Tiny Toons were meant to be the next generation of Looney Tunes, and yet most people today don't know who they are. Because they failed to gain as much fame as their predecessors, Acme Looniversity was shut down and destroyed before they could graduate. Now years have passed since then and the duo of Babs and Buster Bunny--no relation--rise up to set things right. They set out to reunite their fellow cast members and rebuild Acme Loo so they can officially graduate. Of course, it's easier said than done. This movie would serve as a continuation to the series, and it would also be the first film in the WBCL to take place within the real world. And yes, the plot is very meta.
Taz-Mania - Taz is not get along well with the rest of his family, to say the least. They tend to annoy him more than anything else in the world and he doesn't always show his love. Upon hearing that a few hunters--Bull Gator and Axl--have come to the island in search of his kind, he must protect his parents and siblings at all costs. A movie about the Tasmanian Devil sounds odd, but he got his own show in the 90's and it somehow had a decent run. If a character not known for talking can somehow get a whole TV series focusing on him, then why can't he get a movie?
Loonatics Unleashed - In the year 2772, a meteor struck the city-planet of Acmetropolis and released waves of supernatural energy, ultimately giving six residents a strange collection of superpowers. They are assembled by the mysterious Zadavia in an effort to protect the universe from danger. Now known as the Loonatics, Ace Bunny and his allies must step up when the life of the Royal Tweetums is threatened by the evil Sylth Vester. I'm not ignorant; I'm aware of the reputation that Loonatics Unleashed has. But if they were to remake it as a movie, they could make it seem like a parody of gritty action movies while not trying so hard to be one. Throw in the classic slapstick that made Looney Tunes so special. And also, maybe have it so the Loonatics films take place in a universe separate from the animated universe that some of the other movies would exist in--one where the Looney Tunes are legendary action heroes. That way, we can get some sort of Turtles Forever/Teen Titans scenario and the classic characters get to make fun of their "rebooted" selves.
Duck Dodgers - Awoken after being frozen for 300 years, a hapless water boy fools everyone into thinking that he's a famous hero from the 21st century. Those words come back to haunt him in a big way when the head of the Martian military plans to destroy the Earth. I believe that if Daffy Duck could get his own show, then he could get his own movie. What better way to do that than to make it a Duck Dodgers film? Also, the extended theme song would have to be in there. Just saying. It's awesome.
Looney Tunes VS Tiny Toons - Despite graduating from Acme Acres and officially getting her toon degree along with her fellow classmates, Babs Bunny wants to prove that she's just as much of a lunatic as her most recent mentor Lola and this leads to a showdown to determine which one of them is loonier. Their efforts in one-upping each other soon lead to something bigger once the other Tiny Toons and Looney Tunes get involved. It's Bugs VS Buster! Daffy VS Plucky! Furball and Sweetie Pie VS Sylvester and Tweety! Only one generation will stand tall. But which one will it be? I don't know about you, but I would be more than happy to watch 90 minutes of slapstick between the Looney Tunes and the Tiny Toons! They could even make fun movies like Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice or Captain America: Civil War if they wanted to. Also, I considered making Bugs and Buster the main characters, but they've interacted a lot before and I thought I'd try something different. So I went with two characters who, for obvious reasons, haven't shared screen time together yet. I imagine Warner Bros. could use a movie like this as a gateway to some animated shorts focusing on the Tiny Toons.
Animaniacs - Yakko, Wakko and Dot are tired of the same routine, so they leave Burbank to explore the rest of the world. Mr. Plotz sends the other Animaniacs to track them down, but they'll have to do so quickly as someone sinister is also after the anarchic trio. This would be the second movie in the franchise to be a full-blown live-action/animated movie. It ends with Pinky and the Brain talking with Thaddeus about getting a film of their own. Because if any characters from the original series could get their own movie...
PHASE THREE
Freakazoid! - Dexter Douglas was a regular guy, but he became an extraordinary super-teen after inadvertently zapping himself into cyberspace! He is now Freakazoid, a lunatic with super speed, super strength and plenty of information from the Internet. This makes him a big target to Armando Gutierrez, whose company is responsible for the creation of Dexter's new alter-ego. This movie needs to happen someday; Freakazoid is owed his movie deal! The reason I added this series to this fictional movie franchise is mainly because of the show's connection to some of Spielberg's other cartoons.
Duck Dodgers II - Despite already saving the Earth, Dodgers' adventures are far from over. Queen Tyr'ahnee sends multiple bounty hunters to track him down so she can get her hands on him. Commander X-2 and General Z-9 also hope to catch Dodgers and win the heart of their queen.
Pepé Le Pew: Licensed to Spray - France's best secret agent Pepé Le Pew is assigned to track down Claudette Dupri, a former ally of his turned traitor, and find the elusive Golden MacGuffin. The inspiration for this comes from New Looney Tunes, in which Pepé is a secret agent. They could make this movie a mix between Austin Powers and The Pink Panther. Maybe toss in Fifi La Fume as a major character in the story. NOTE: A Pepé Le Pew movie was considered at one point.
Loonatics: Acmegeddon - A few of the Loonatics' past foes join forces under the leadership of the villainous Optimatus. Plus, a secret is revealed that will shake the team of heroes to their core.
Yosemite Sam: Bounty Hunter for Hire - When Blacque Jacque Shellacque breaks out of prison, inexperienced sheriff Red Hot Ryder enlists the help of hot-headed bounty hunter--and Shellacque's cousin--Yosemite Sam. A movie about Yosemite Sam that parodies western films sounds like something Looney Tunes fans would watch, and it could be handled very well. Plus, Red Hot Ryder has appeared in only one short and is severely underrated. Adding him to the story makes for more comedy.
Freakazoid Returns! - Freakazoid's popularity has gone through the roof, and one man is irate because of it. Believing the city deserves better than a masked spandex-wearing jester, he transforms himself through an experiment and dubs himself the Lobe.
Pinky and the Brain - Pinky and the Brain are a pair of laboratory mice that had their genes spliced by a brilliant scientist. Since then, they've only had one ultimate goal in mind: try to take over the world. Sadly, they've failed at every turn. Until now, that is. Yes, Pinky and the Brain finally take over the world! So now what? Well, it's one thing to seize control of the Earth; it's another to maintain it. I honestly don't have much of an idea as to what Brain's plan would involve. I feel like the writers have come up with so many ridiculous ideas that only they could think of something movie-worthy. Much like the Animaniacs episode Spell-Bound, I imagine such a film would feature other Animaniacs characters in smaller roles. Freakazoid could even have a cameo somewhere.
PHASE FOUR
Loonatics: Deuces Wild (Part 1) - Optimatus is freed by Deuce, spelling more trouble for the Loonatics and the universe. It may be best to split this in two films because of how big the actual story was. Also, deuce. Looney Tunes would NOT hesitate to capitalize on that.
Freakazette! - Freakazoid learns that someone with powers similar to his is spotted running rampant through the streets, so he gets Sgt. Cosgrove to help him track her down. But at the same time, he'll have to contend with the villainous Cobra Queen.
Duck Dodgers III - Martian General Z-9 plots a military coup on Mars, holds Queen Tyr'ahnee hostage and forces Martian Commander X-2 on the run. Duck Dodgers and the Eager, Young Space Cadet must find their old nemesis and somehow save two planets. This film would adapt the TV show's two-part season two finale, Of Course You Know This Means War and Peace. Also, there would be a small appearance near the end of the film by Plucky Duck (as Duck Dodgers Jr.) and Marcia the Martian from Tiny Toon Adventures as they take over for their respective mentors.
Loonatics: Deuces Wild (Part 2) - With the universe at serious risk, the Loonatics may not be enough to save the day.
Now That's Comedy!: The Slappy Squirrel Story - Slappy tells her nephew Skippy about the events that turned her into the respected comedy legend she is today. This would be a live-action/animated film and it would include appearances from other Looney Tunes characters. I admit, coming up with a plot for a movie about Slappy Squirrel is hard work.
Histeria! - Father Time has to teach some irritating kids about history, which is easier said than done since the last couple of teachers who were assigned to do so ultimately went insane. His method to help the kids: time travel. Long story short, hilarity ensues. This is an odd addition to the franchise, I'll admit. Steven Spielberg wasn't even involved with this show as he was with Tiny Toon Adventures or Animaniacs. But Looney Tunes characters have constantly appeared throughout the show, so I thought there might've been a way to adapt the series while also fitting it into this fictional movie universe. Also, it would be a musical. The show thrived on that.
Defenders of the Looniverse - Deuce was recently sent to a different dimension after his battle with Ace Bunny. That dimension turned out to be an alternate universe where the Looney Tunes are more focused on slapstick comedy than action. And since there aren't any action heroes as experienced as the Loonatics, it shouldn't be as hard for him to accomplish his goals. He targets and brainwashes the Looney Tunes for obviously personal reasons, potentially spelling the end for the world. But thanks to a heads-up from Father Time, Slappy Squirrel assembles the wackiest dream team ever. Freakazoid, Freakazette, the Warner Siblings, and the Tiny Toons must save the Looney Tunes and their world. This means...we're dead. Yes, this is the endgame for the franchise. The next generation of Looney Tunes (and company) finally takes over. This movie would sorta be The Avengers with slapstick.

THOUGHTS?
So that's all I've got. I didn't have to go into so much detail with this, but I did and we all have to deal with it. If you see any flaws with this, do you have a way to fix it? Would you like to see this happen or do you think Hollywood could somehow find a way to ruin the whole thing? Let me know your thoughts on the idea. That's all, folks!

2019.10.18 20:27 levilarrington Destination: Chicago - The Final Chapter

The next morning was rough. I felt like a two day old turd on a month old mat of maggots. But it was just a car ride back to Chicago - there would be no physical moving involved in my day for the most part. Sure, I had to get out of bed and go down to the car and then get out of the car, but I could manage that. I'm a fighter.
Before leaving I had asked the groom if any of the many casinos we saw on the way were safe, given that they were all in Gary. He assured me the Horseshoe Casino was safe.
The Horseshoe casino sits outside Garyish and has a breathtaking view of Chicago from that dump, Indiana. It's owned by Cesar's Palace and is a magnificent stop on your way back to civilization. I lost 300 dollars on a Seinfeld themed game.
Back in Chicago, Gay Pride was in full swing and so was traffic. My aunt lived on the main thoroughfare, so it took some time to get from the shore to the condo. But we could hear it from the shore.
Once we got back the parade was in full swing. Louder and prouder than ever, the folks in Chicago really know how to Pride it up. My biggest takeaway from the parade: it was one long commercial. Every float was sponsored by you name it. At one point I saw a float that said MBLGBT and thought I missed two new groups to the party. Nope. It was Mercedes Benz Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender. I can't be for sure, but every float I saw was sponsored. Which, I understand, but it kinda takes the whole radical out of the event.
The best part was when the parade was over. We walked down to Wrigley field and it was like a warzone. People of all nationalities, sexual orientations, and Coke or Pepsi preference were smashed out of their minds on intoxicants. We saw a man shivering in the 80 degree weather hunkered over and mumbling to himself. One woman was walking in the streets that were full of glass barefoot. A man was taken away in a stretcher. Beers all over the place. People coming down hard off drugs.
But, luckily, no sex.
The parade really brought everyone in town together to do drugs in a somewhat safe environment. However, a number of people were very bad at doing drugs.
The police made a strong, military presence, but seemed quiet accommodating and friendly.
After walking through block after block of rave aftermath we got to majestic Wrigley. Then we went looking for pizza. We ended up at this stuffed crust affair that honestly just tasted like Flying Pie.
Back home, we sat and watched the leftovers from the parade. People were out all night just roaming the streets and cursing, hugging, or almost getting in fights.
There was a threesome of women made up of a victim, a protector, and a lookout. The victim seemed to be coming down hard off something and the protector kept hugging her, giving her water, and talking her down. Then the lookout would walk out on the street and make sure no one saw them. But the lookout really sucked at this job because she would start doing it and then go to a window and start staring at her reflection. This went on for about two hours. Finally, someone came and picked them up. But they were far from safe, because the car that picked them up almost hit two other cars stopped at a light.
I thought about going back to the Gyro place, but didn't. The type of people still on the street late at night after that party would probably be looking for blood.
Thus ends my trip to Chicago and Indiana. On the way back I stole this dude's hotdog at the airport on accident, but that was about it. Well, I didn't steal it. The guy in front of me stole mine and I took the next one that was the other guys cuz it was Chicago style and I don't like Chicago style.
To me, the best hotdog is the 7/11: Mustard, onions, and cheese sauce.
Now! Now you have learned something.
